Fundraising and Development Intern Position (remote)
Key Responsibilities
1) Develop and implement fundraising plans and strategies to raise funds for the
organization
2) Research potential donors and new opportunities by screening existing funding
supporting similar causes:
- Ukraine
- Medical
- Veterans
- Disabilities
- Human rights
3) Research and identify potential corporate and governmental donors and partners by
screening:
- Public speakers
- Political standpoint
- Press releases
- Previous donations for Ukrainian programs
4) Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential donors.
- What is the appropriate way to keep in touch with the current donor/partner
5) Coordinate donor recognition and stewardship programs.
6) Plan and organize events with donor and partnership companies.
7) Manage donor database and ensure the accuracy of donor information
8) Coordinate and share fundraising budgets and financial reports with board members

9) Attend and represent the organization at non-profit conferences and community events

Medical Program Development Intern (remotely)
Key responsibilities:
1) Medical Institution Coordination:
Initiate and maintain contact with appointed medical institutions, including Johns Hopkins, Dankmeyer Orthopedic Center, and physical medicine schools at UMBC/UMCP.
Facilitate communication channels and collaborations between our organization and healthcare partners.
2) Insurance Pre-Authorization:
Identify and locate staff members responsible for insurance pre-authorization and pre-determination (billing team) at medical institutions.
Facilitate detailed discussions regarding insurance plans, pre-treatment estimates, and financial aspects of planned procedures.
3) Patient Access Coordination:
Schedule introductory appointments with responsible parties at medical institutions to ensure smooth access for international patients.
Discuss financial estimates, and potential payment plans, and outline admission requirements for diagnostic and treatment purposes.
4) Hospitals Collaboration:
Engage in detailed discussions about insurance plans and pre-treatment estimates.
Facilitate estimates for planned procedures, including hospital fees.
Provide information on the Federal No Surprises Act and assist patients in understanding their rights.
Collaborate with the Cost Estimates Assistance Line and utilize the provided contact information for cost estimates.
Discuss prosthetic services for upper limb amputations, associated costs, and insurance coverage pre-estimates.
5) Physical Therapy Interns Coordination:
Assess and coordinate services offered by physical therapy interns.
Evaluate interns' abilities, availability, specialties, and modalities.
Explore the feasibility of therapeutic massage and other services at school clinic facilities.
Investigate the possibility of providing charitable services for Ukrainian veterans.
6) Program Outline and Logistics:
Develop a comprehensive program outline, including planned procedures and services.
Build the structure of the medical program.
Manage relationships with involved organizations.
Monitor program outcomes and maintain reports for future reference.
Monitor clients' progress, adjust service plans as needed, and develop custom plans based on individual needs.
7) Volunteer Coordination:
Coordinate volunteer participation and scheduling for the medical program.
Qualifications:

Pursuing a degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with medical institutions and healthcare professionals.
